About Us

LH Consulting is a small London based management consultancy founded by Lydia Hirst in 1996, previously known as Lydia Hirst & Co. We have strong shared values, at the heart of which is our desire to support and delight our customers. We have long-term client relationships, dating back to the late 1990’s.

By maintaining links with government-funded organisations, such as Business Link and Learning & Skills Council, LH Consulting has been able to provide some services to smaller businesses on a funded basis.

About Us

Lydia Hirst is an experienced management consultant. Her early business career was in a multinational petrochemical company working in Quality, marketing and planning. Since 1996, she has offered Quality, planning and HR consultancy to organisations from private, public and not-for-profit sectors. She supports business improvement by addressing performance indicators/business processes as well as people issues. She delivers management training, facilitates management groups and coaches individual managers. A Certified Management Consultant since 1997, she is an Investors in People adviser and an EFQM and Customer First Assessor. A Certified Management Consultant (with IMC) since 1997, she is an Investors in People adviser, an EFQM assessor (joint member of BQF/London Excellence), Director of the North London Chamber of Commerce and a Customer First Assessor.

Associates - Biographies

Su Kingsley, STRAD Consulting, coaches leaders to achieve key goals and aspirations unlocking changes throughout the organisation. Su has worked with diverse organisations, cultures and people. Her lifetime passion for developing people’s potential informs her coaching, and organisational development approach. She is a Master Practitioner of NLP holding the NLP European Coaching Certificate. She is a member of the ICF and the UK Association for Coaching. Su completed her MBA from Bath University in 2001, and became a Certified Management Consultant in 2002.

Brenda Bloch, Skills with People, is a trainer/facilitator with expertise in working with staff groups to develop skills and apply them effectively at work. She set up a Performance Management Programme with the Legal Services Commission and has established and run ILM accredited courses in Leadership and Management for local authorities, as well as customer care courses, presentation skills, taking effective minutes and running effective meetings for many housing associations.  Brenda is a regular trainer for Macmillan Cancer Care, establishing self help groups for cancer patients. Previously she was the London Citizens Advice Bureau’s Training Officer.

Hiroo Chothia, Insight Business Development, is particularly interested in the interface between individual and organisational effectiveness.  She has extensive experience of working with public and private sector clients on a range of diverse organisation development issues and has lead organisations through significant change.  She is also an experienced facilitator and coach. Hiroo has broad practical experience of how organisations work and this is informed by theoretical knowledge of Organisation Development, provided through training from Ashridge Management School as well as an MBA.

Suzy Phillips, Creative Connexions has been a consultant for over 15 years. She specialises in enhancing organisation and individual learning through a variety of interventions to make a positive difference. Suzy works across all sectors and levels of management. She brings a range of expertise and experience: change management, leadership development, skills training, team building, coaching, action learning and developing people’s creative potential. Suzy is trained in psychometric testing, certificated in Myers Briggs Type Indicator and Transactional Analysis. She is an NHS approved facilitator in Action Learning, Team and Leadership Development.

Other Associates: LH Consulting work with a number of other consultants and trainers, who are called in for specific projects. Quality is ensured through the close working relationships and the post project reviews.
